Hello, I'm Anthony! Contact me: starandjasper@gmail.com Back to Home Page
Writing is the most satisfying thing in the world, and I love being an author! I like writing short humorous stories - especially those with a twist in the tail! - and I've just finished my new Trilogy, "Star Sapphire and the Land of Gems". This is an exciting adventure story set in a fantasy land of gemstones, originally conceived as a film script - and what an amazing animation it would be! - but first, I expect you'd like to know a little more about me, and what I've done in my life so far. I hope it's not too boring!
After a short spell in the RAF, where I was involved with computers and guided missiles, I worked for IBM as an engineer on big computer systems and then - wonderful day! - started my own crystal and mineral business in the old 'House That Moved' in Exeter, in the County of Devon, England. Here's a picture of that amazing old Tudor house. Why is it called 'The House That Moved'? Well, it was one of the few old buildings that survived the bombing during the Exeter blitz (WWII) and after the war it was moved - lock, stock and barrel - to it's present position opposite the ancient 'Matthew the Miller' church, next to the historic West Gate. I filled this lovely old Tudor house with crystals and minerals from all over the world. Imagine how beautiful THAT was!
Time moved on and I became a silversmith, with my own hallmark at the London Assay Office, but my real interests were finding my own crystals and minerals, exploring old mines, cutting agates and geodes, gold panning, flying and playing my melodeon!

For a long time I was owned by a cat! Dillon the Villain was a very gentle, kind animal who really liked to watch TV! Every evening, just before ten, he'd sit in front of the TV and wait for the man in the box to talk to him! I have lots of photos of Dillon watching TV. He was well versed in current affairs!
I mentioned gold panning and flying, so here are some pictures. I don't fly much these days but I do still play the melodeon! This is a small squeeze box but - unlike an accordion - it gives a different note when pulled and pushed. It's NOTHING like the accordions and discordions that Star and Jasper saw in the Music Chamber in Book Two - they were very unusual!!!

I'm married to a wonderful lady - Suzanne - and together we live happily in the far South West of England, near the sea, and we spend our days writing and exploring. Over the years I've written lots of humorous
short stories - these will soon be available through Amazon - and we'll soon be starting on the sequel
to "Star Sapphire and the Land of Gems". I hope you enjoy my work!
